Hackers have been running a scam using FarmVille, the Facebook real-time game.
Hackers have been harvesting (illegally gathering user information) Facebook usernames and passwords using a phishing technique. FarmVille players are duped into disclosing their credentials by presenting users with fake a login page. Many people use the same password if not the same username for many online, personal and office access.
Companies concerned with such tools as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others need to develop policies, procedures and guidelines regarding Social Networking and User Accounts as part of their Information Assurance Programme.
